FREDRIK SJÖHOLM

Lets handshake and change the world!

Hands-on builder of practical tech — from IoT systems and data dashboards to controlled-environment growing.

I combine embedded/edge engineering with real-world service mindset to turn prototypes into things that actually run day after day.

About me

I’m a practical, systems-oriented maker who likes connecting the full chain: hardware → data → dashboard/visualization → decisions.

Over the last years I’ve built and iterated on IoT projects using ESP32 and Raspberry Pi, focusing on robust configuration flows, reliable sensing, and dashboards that make complex systems easier to operate.

Alongside the tech, I run a small lab environment where I test controlled-environment growing (vertical setups, hydroponic thinking, and everyday “what actually works” improvements, nutrient mixer, climate, humidity/temperature balance, and repeatable routines). I’m especially motivated by projects where measurement, automation, and closed feedback loops can reduce resource input, waste and increase process reliability.

My background also includes ISO training, writing processes, working with qualiware tools, hands-on service and trouble shooting railway vehicles in high-voltage environments (16kV). Railway experience strongly shaped how I build: safety, clarity, troubleshooting, and serviceability matter as much as the first mvp.

What I’m focused on

  • IoT & embedded systems: ESP32 workflows, configuration UX, device modes (AP/STA), status feedback, reliability
  • Edge + dashboards: Grafana/Node.js data collection and real-time visualization that helps operators understand what’s happening
  • Sensing & calibration: modbus datacollection from analog sensors and regression calculations to plot calibration curves for better support and sensor integration
  • Energy & instrumentation: using smart plugs and telemetry to profile usage, spot events, and optimize behavior
  • Controlled-environment growing: vertical setups, hydroponic principles, and iterative improvements driven by measurement and routine
  • Direct injected Nutrient mixer systems for minimizing waste in production.
  • Technical Training & communication: structured, professional training material and hands-on sessions (e.g., product training with comparisons and installation cases)

Selected work (highlights)

ESP32 configuration & device UX
Built flows for searching, adding, and updating Wi-Fi credentials, including switching between access point and station modes. Designed to make setup possible without a laptop mindset.

Real-time energy/data dashboards (scalable)
Pulled power/temperature/relay/counter data and visualized it with short-interval polling and an in-memory rolling window. Focused on clear graphs that make “idle vs usage” patterns and event peaks obvious.

Water sensor measurement with calibration storage (scalable)
Worked with analog scaling, stable voltage reading, calibration values, and persistence (EEPROM-style storage patterns). The goal was not only getting a number, but getting a number you can trust and maintain.

Technical training & product enablement
Developed a professional training concept that compares new and older products, includes hands-on installation, wiring/config examples, and addresses common real-world challenges.

Concept development:
I’ve created many different MVP, contact me for demonstration to discuss business modell and proposals (requires NDA)

How I work

  • Build for reality: I prefer solutions that tolerate messy conditions — unstable networks, edge cases, and field troubleshooting, built in redundancies.
  • Make it measurable: if we can’t see it, we can’t improve it. I like logging, trends, and simple KPIs.
    Toyota way, visualise everything.
  • Iterate fast, stabilize early: quick prototypes are fine, but I put effort into making them maintainable and repeatable.
  • Explain clearly: I’m comfortable turning technical complexity into training, documentation, and step-by-step setups.

What I’m looking for

I’m interested in collaborations with organisation and finansers who can fund projects where I can combine my MVP with real-world usability — whether that’s industrial monitoring, energy instrumentation, controlled-environment growing, or “make this prototype into a reliable system” work and product for re-sell.
